When Savage Race was born in 2011, we set six rules to define who we are and to set us apart from everyone else. To this day, we design our events with these rules as our guideposts.

  1. Savage Race is incredibly fun.
  2. We always have the best obstacles.
  3. It's about teamwork and friendship.
  4. Our community matters to us more than anything.
  5. We challenge beginners. We challenge experts.
  6. No one expects you to beat all the obstacles. It's normal to fail.

  • By far, my favorite OCR series..

    By Dale Hall (2019-05-24, 16:14)

    Event location:

Best OCR out there!! The distance is great (the new Blitz version is fun also) and the obstacles kick ass! Some are easy, some are hard and some are just a mind game. You get tested both physical and mental in the race. And, there are obstacles you look forward to facing every time you race. Above the race itself, the Company is Top Notch when it comes to customer service. The Customer Service reps are always quick to answer your questions and resolve your issues. And, more times than not, you'll see the CEO himself in the Facebook group answering questions and even asking the racers questions to help make decisions for the next racing season. This year, we even had a vote as to what the Syndicate medals would look like. If you haven't tried a Savage Race or Savage Blitz yet, you are truly missing out. That's why there are 9 Savages on my 2019 schedule.. 6 down, three more to go.

  • Good Race

    By Travis Grindle (2019-05-22, 18:13)

    Event location:

This was my first Savage Race and 5th different “brand” of race and overall it was a good. I raced on Saturday along with about 1250 other people, traffic and parking were smooth but a lot of that had to do with the time of day we got there, I could see where it may become complex. Check in was great, 5 stars! Very easy. The festival area was like most races. I was somewhat disappointed in the start as I did not feel like there was much Hype or pump up. On to the race, path was clearly marked and took advantage of the terrain that was there. Obstacles looked to be well made and no issues. The obstacles themselves where a mix of ones you see at every race and some new ones, I thought some were more “cute” then a challenge. I also thought the lay out of the obstacles did not break my rhythm at all which was a small let down. Pictures looked good but none at the finish line, also no volunteers at the finish line for encouragement. I know this sounds like a negative add but it’s not, I really enjoy ed the race and will do it again and encourage everyone to do so.

  • Savage Charlotte 5-18-19

First Savage, and I’m completely impressed. Obstacles were exactly as promised - a challenge. Every volunteer or person we encountered (racer or otherwise) was pleasant and encouraging. I’ll be back.

First time running the race and had an awesome time so highly recommend coming out! Some very fun but challenging obstacles but really great course.

I just did my first Savage race, and it was amazing!I wanted a huge challenge, and that's exactly what I got!The obstacles were second to none. I think I completed a little over half of them. The terrain was a challenge as the wooded areas were fairly rocky, and had a lot of hills. The weather presented another challenge! It was over 90 degrees at race time. All in all it was a pretty brutal race, but that is exactly what I am looking for in an obstacle course.

  • Charlotte Savage Blitz 2019

    By Jason Eldridge (2019-05-19, 20:10)

    Event location:

    Hodges Farm's Charlotte NC

I had a great time doing the Blitz for the first time and obstacles were awesome! I only have one negative takeaway, and that is the Finisher T-shirt. The material is fine, but the lettering and logo dont stand out at all and its kind of plain to be honest. Color isnt great either, and would rathet see blue shirt. Medal is cool, and as a Spartan Racer for 5 years, guess im used to those finisher shirts.

  • Spring Savage Race Maryland 2019 was fantastic!

    By Alfred L Guy ( 2019-05-13 , 18:43 )

    Event location:

My last OCR was a few years ago. A friend of mine asked me to team up with him for spring 2019. I'm so glad I did. I forgot how much fun it is, and the event was very professionally run. We're returning with more people. We are already registered for the fall Savage Race in Maryland!

  • It keeps on getting better!

This series has many of my favorite obstacles, the perfect distance, and one of the best communities! Love volunteering for these guys as well, they really take care of you! They truly value their customers and deserve every bit of recognition they get!
