When Savage Race was born in 2011, we set six rules to define who we are and to set us apart from everyone else. To this day, we design our events with these rules as our guideposts.

  1. Savage Race is incredibly fun.
  2. We always have the best obstacles.
  3. It's about teamwork and friendship.
  4. Our community matters to us more than anything.
  5. We challenge beginners. We challenge experts.
  6. No one expects you to beat all the obstacles. It's normal to fail.

We promise that it is the best that way. Speaking of community, why don’t you join our Savage Syndicate group on Facebook to connect with other runners?

Savage Syndicate

Savage Syndicate is a loyalty program designed to reward participants who run in two or more events within a single calendar year (this means between January 1 and December 31 of the same year). After you qualify, you can pick up your own Syndicate medal and race finisher pins (one for each race) onsite at your qualifying race. Learn more

Watch your friends or family complete Savage Race with a spectator pass. Spectators have full access to the race course. We provide spectator course maps and recommended spectator viewing routes to help you find your way. Spectator passes are $15 online until the Friday before the event, or $25 onsite on race day. All SavageJR entries come with one complimentary spectator pass. Purchase spectator passes here.

There are two ways to Ruck Savage Race.

Savage Race Rucking Division
9:30am Saturday

Rucking Division is not a Cadre-led event. In Rucking Division, you simply show up, have fun, and ruck the course with your friends and others from the GORUCK community. Rucking Division finishers earn a special patch in addition to their T-shirt and medal. Rucking Division event completions do count toward Savage Syndicate qualification.

Savage Race GORUCK Tough
12:01 am Saturday
(Note: Friday night / Sat. morning)

GORUCK teams up with Savage Race for a special GORUCK Tough Challenge on the grounds of the Savage Race. That means your Special Forces Cadre will have access to Savage Race’s 27+ obstacles for you to lead, follow, and overcome adversity as a team, by night, on an obstacle course closed to everyone else until morning. GORUCK Tough finishers earn a special patch in addition to Savage Race T-shirt and finisher medal. Savage Race GORUCK Tough event completions do count toward Syndicate qualification. Additional gear is required for this event.

I have never competed in anything in my life that was so totally exhilarating. My friends/ coworkers participated and I absolutely had a blast. This was my first race and it certainly won’t be my last!

Have you ever done a race where 1/4 the way through it you feel like your doing to die, not finish and feel like a complete failure but you hen push through it, breakthrough the tears and finish it. Not place in it but FINISH IT! And cry because you can’t believe you pushed yourself that hard and actually accomplished something you feared you would never finish and wanted to quit! This is that race! This race is unlike any other race. But you will finish it! And every other racer will help you finish it! Less the 1 month till Georgia 2021 & I’m ready for those feelings again!!!

  • PA 2021...holy hell that was fun.

The whole operation ran smoothly, the obstacles varied from simple to brutal, and everybody...I mean everybody...was super supportive and out for a good time. Still a bit sore 3 days later. Awesome race.

  • Amazing as Always!

Every aspect of the race is heads and shoulders above all of the other race series. Amazing course, great obstacles, very well managed, friendly and very, very helpful team members. Other race series could learn a thing or two from watching Savage Race - these guys know how business is done.

I freaking love this race - its hard yes(especially since its at a freaking ski resort) but savage race truly is the best distance and obstacles. I honestly volunteer every year its there to get to run this course! Never stop coming back savage!

You want a trail run that's not too muddy but not too dry. You want a variety of well spaced obstacles that work every muscle but that are not impossible. You want to push yourself but not get crushed. You just want an awesome well rounded venue...YOU WANT SAVAGE RACE!

  • Savage Race is just Different

    By Nick Tersak (2021-04-28, 16:22)

    Event location:

    Dade City Florida

I'm not an expert or proffesional Racer. However I'm approaching 40 OCR's between tough mudder, Spartan, and Savage. I love the creativity and differences but at the end of the day, Nothing can compare to how much I enjoy Savage Races. The energy, Obstacles, and even Volunteers just seem way more motivating and fun. I almost strictly plan to do Savage Race twice a year now and any other race is just an extra if I do.

  • Best race

Best Obstacle race around hands down. It’s a lot of fun but challenging.Just wish the venue was better and the race was longer miles
