When Savage Race was born in 2011, we set six rules to define who we are and to set us apart from everyone else. To this day, we design our events with these rules as our guideposts.

  1. Savage Race is incredibly fun.
  2. We always have the best obstacles.
  3. It's about teamwork and friendship.
  4. Our community matters to us more than anything.
  5. We challenge beginners. We challenge experts.
  6. No one expects you to beat all the obstacles. It's normal to fail.

There are two ways to Ruck Savage Race.

Savage Race Rucking Division
9:30am Saturday

Rucking Division is not a Cadre-led event. In Rucking Division, you simply show up, have fun, and ruck the course with your friends and others from the GORUCK community. Rucking Division finishers earn a special patch in addition to their T-shirt and medal. Rucking Division event completions do count toward Savage Syndicate qualification.

Savage Race GORUCK Tough
9:00 pm Friday – 9:00 am Saturday

GORUCK teams up with Savage Race for a special GORUCK Tough Challenge on the grounds of the Savage Race. That means your Special Forces Cadre will have access to Savage Race’s 27+ obstacles for you to lead, follow, and overcome adversity as a team, by night, on an obstacle course closed to everyone else until morning. GORUCK Tough finishers earn a special patch in addition to Savage Race T-shirt and finisher medal. Savage Race GORUCK Tough event completions do count toward Syndicate qualification. This race series just keeps getting better! I have actually stopped attending other OCR events because they just kept falling short to Savage. In short, if you are thinking about registering, do it! You won't regret it!

  • Best in the business

Savage race never disappoints! On a fun scale it’s off the charts! The race format is challenging but doable for most athletes. We spent the last year traveling to almost all the savages races and there was not a single one that did not live up to the hype! Can’t wait til the next event! Awesome staff excellent customer service. ALL good things to say about savage race!

  • Most creative and new obstacles

5 stars hands freakin down. I compete in this sport as a full-time competitive athlete, and Savage race is commonly known as the race that's doing it right. From the moment you're parking your vehicle till the day you are sifting through your photos online with drool running down your face, Savage race is top notch. Fantastic send off guy for each wave, very creative, Innovative, new hard obstacles all the time without taking away the old ones, great festival area challenges and food. This is one of the top 4 OCR's in the world in my opinion.

  • Best OCR ever

    By Blythe K ( 2019-01-25 , 16:16 )

I have ran over a hundred races and Savaged by far is one of my favorites. Always consistent with awesome obstacles that will test you. The after party is awesome as well. This is one race that never disappoints.

  • Never miss this race

    By Peter M ( 2019-01-25 , 16:14 )

    Event location:

I've run every GA Savage for years and will do my best to never miss this race. Same location, but the mix it up every time. They make great use of the land, invent new obstacles and mix up the order to make it a unique experience each time. Best of all, they have 1st, 2nd and 3rd place medals for Age Group competitors! Who does that?! Only Savage!

  • My favorite OCR

    By Jeff Marrier ( 2019-01-25 , 16:14 )

still continues to be my favorite OCR, perfect blend of difficult & fun!

  • Top 3 Race for Seasoned OCRs

    By KOASEV ( 2019-01-25 , 16:13 )

    Event location:

Although I enjoyed last year's Savage Race, I didn't sign up to the last minute this year. Boy I'm glad I did! Savage Race gets it. From the start with their hype man, use of terrain and their new obstacles, it all made for an even better race this year. My only "complaints" are they need to mark the trails better. A lot of the obstacles didn't have anyone from Savage Race stationed and the bottlenecking at Colossus needs to be improved. Will definitely not wait till the last minute to register.

  • Savage is awesome!!

    By Brian ( 2019-01-25 , 16:12 )

    Event location:

What isn't to like about Savage Race? The registration is easy, it's cheaper than some of the other big OCRs out there, it's well organized, and the obstacles are fun and challenging. The hills for this event definitely add an element of suck to the race, but I would definitely do Savage again!
