Reminder: Wave times will be checked and strictly enforced before entering the venue. You may only enter the venue within 30 minutes of your assigned wave time or your team’s wave time.

Pre-Pay Parking Instructions

Savage Race parking is available for $10 per car and $25 for RVs or buses for each race day. VIP parking will be available for $20. PRE-PAY CLOSED. Pay at event.

*Know your assigned start time before you arrive on race day. If you do not know your wave time or bib number, go to the giant blue wall with the most up to date bib list before going to the information tent.

If you registered after 7/13 11:59 PM – Your race time is:

  • Saturday, 7/25 – 1:20 PM
  • Or you may join your team

*Participants may move to a later wave time, but not earlier. Teams and groups may always run together.

Check-in Process

Participants
After you’ve parked, please make your way to the entrance of the event. Our onsite medic staff will be conducting a short wellness check questionnaire and will be taking each person’s temperature with a contactless thermometer (review the event reopening plan details here). After you’ve passed the screening, make your way to the BIB PICKUP tent with your signed waiver and photo ID in hand and head to the BIB PICKUP lane that corresponds with your bib number.

You will then receive your race packet that contains:

  • Timing Chip
  • Strap for Timing Chip
  • Race Bib
  • Safety Pins
***SavagePRO’s: You will also receive a Velcro wristband with a second timing chip.  You MUST wear both wristbands and timing chips to be eligible for cash prizes and age group awards

 

Loop the strap through the timing chip and attach it to your wrist.

Remove your FREE BEER TAB from the bib and put it in a safe place (in your bag or in your vehicle). You will not receive your free beer if you do not present the tab at the free beer tent after you race.

Using the safety pins, attach the bib to an article of clothing you will be wearing during the race. Make sure it’s visible from the front so that the race photographers will be able to identify you for your FREE race photos!

If you would like to check a bag, take it to the BAG CHECK tent. Bag check is $5 per bag. Card or contactless payment only. NO CASH. 

Head to the big black arch labeled START and get warmed up until your wave time.

 

Spectators

No spectators are permitted access to the event unless they are there to accompany a participating minor (13-17 y/o) who is running in the Savage Race or Savage Blitz race. One spectator per-participating minor will be permitted. If you need to purchase a spectator pass for this instance, you can purchase one at the information table for $20 on event day with a credit card, debit card, or contactless pay – NO CASH.

GENERAL INFORMATION

When to Arrive
Start times will be enforced. Customers may not check in for their race more than 30 minutes prior to their assigned start time. Parking and registration opens at 8:00 AM. First wave starts at 9:00 AM.


What you Need to Bring

  • Photo ID
  • Know your bib number and wave time – BIB NUMBERS AND WAVE TIMES
  • Your participant waiver – initialed, signed and ready to go – WAIVER DOWNLOAD
  • We request customers to bring their own masks, but we will have free masks available near the check-in area and near the finish line area.
  • Appropriate footwear is highly recommended! Note: you will get muddy! No metal cleats
  • Spending money for extra beer, food, bag check, parking, and awesome Savage Race merchandise. Cash will not be accepted as payment anywhere onsite. Credit cards only. (Pre-pay for future ticket packages here)
  • Change of clothes and a towel. Yes, we have a cold wash station.
  • A bag to store your valuables in at our optional bag check. (Cost is $5 per bag. Pre-pay here)
  • A great attitude. We expect Savages to encourage (while socially distanced) each other through the course.


What to Leave at Home:
Do not bring any of the following items to Savage Race:

  • No metal cleats
  • Tents or chairs
  • No outside food or beverages
  • Coolers
  • Glass containers
  • Pets (service dogs are okay)
  • Crappy attitudes
  • Weapons of any kind


Optional Bag Check
We will have an optional bag check available for $5, credit/debit card or contactless payment only; NO CASH. Please make sure to have your own bag if you want to check something. We are not responsible for lost or stolen items.  Pre-pay for bag check here


Free Beer Ticket – Don’t Lose It!
We want you to receive your hard-earned beer. Each participant over 21 will have a beer ticket attached to their bib. Make sure you remove the ticket from the bib prior to the event. If you lose it, you will not be able to get your free beer.


Lost and Found Items
We will have a lost and found located at the bag check tent on race day. Please be aware that not all items are turned in to us, and we are not responsible for lost or stolen items.

**WARNING – Those running with cameras are susceptible to losing them in our mud and water obstacles. It’s always a good idea to place your contact information on or in valuable items. Be sure to secure all items while on the course. You have been warned! All lost electronic items will require a $75 return fee for processing and shipping to the rightful owner of the lost item. *NOTE: Not all lost items are recovered and we cannot guarantee their return.

Race day registrations will be available for purchase at the information table. Credit cards, debits cards, and contactless payment will be accepted; NO CASH:

Cancellations and Transfers
Participants can cancel or transfer their registration in advance of the event by contacting our customer service department at savagerace.com/contact. Due to coronavirus concerns, all transfer fees have been temporarily waived.

Participant transfers can be made on race day for no additional fee. Please contact our customer service team at savagerace.com/contact before race day and let us know who will not be attending and who will be running in the original runner’s place.


Weather
We do not intend to cancel or delay Savage Race due to inclement weather. We will let you know on our Weather Update Center page if anything changes. Unpredictable weather conditions mean that unexpected race day changes are possible for our event. Please roll with the punches. Generally speaking, we won’t cancel the event for a rainy, wet day. However, lightning, tornadoes, strong winds, and flooding may provide cause for delays or cancellation. Pay attention to the Weather Update Center or to the Savage Race Facebook page for further updates.


SavagePRO

SavagePRO rules overview video: Watch Now

Wave times
Due to the new safety protocols we have in place, the SavagePRO wave will be split up into five minute intervals with 25 runners per interval. These intervals will go off starting at 9:00 AM and ending at 9:25 AM.  In order for us to assign your official starting time you will need to fill out a survey disclosing your expected 5 mile run speed to aid us in appropriate wave time interval placements. If you do not fill out the questionnaire you will be placed into one of the later wave time intervals for SavagePRO. Only those placed in the 9:00 AM wave time interval will be eligible for the top 3 female or male overall podium placements. Click here to fill out the survey.

Eligibility
To be eligible for SavagePRO cash prizes and age group awards, athletes must register for the SavagePRO wave at 9:00 AM on Saturday. Upgrades to can be made at the information tent on race day for $30. All upgrades must be completed by 8:45 AM.

Overall Awards and Cash Prize Structure (male and female)

1st Place Overall: $1,000; Gold Medal
2nd Place Overall: $500; Silver Medal
3rd Place Overall: $250; Bronze Medal

Age Group Awards (male and female)

1st Place in Age Group: Gold Medal
2nd Place in Age Group: Silver Medal
3rd Place in Age Group: Bronze Medal

SavagePRO Ceremony
There will be no award ceremony.  Once the race results have been finalized, overall and age group awards can be picked up at the Syndicate tent. You must pick up your award at the event; they will not be mailed post-race.

SavageJR

SavageJR has been cancelled for the Chicago 2020 event. If you have already purchased a SavageJR registration for this event, please check your email for details regarding your purchase.
