FIELD TEAM CARPENTER

We’re looking for talented person to join the Savage Race team on the road as a field team carpenter who will be responsible for designing, building, installing, and repairing obstacle structures, using many different types of materials.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Prepare the layout of the projects.
• Estimate height, width, length, and other proportions.
• Select materials.
• Work with blueprints or instructions from supervisors.
• Work with materials such as wood, plastic, or steel.
• Utilize chisels, planes, saws, drills, and sanders to repair and erect structures.
• Join materials with nails, screws, staples, or adhesives.
• Work on top of stilts, ladders, and the top beams of structures.
• Check work along the way to ensure it’s up to code and specifications.
• Use levels, rules, plumb bobs, framing squares, and surveying equipment to ensure everything is level and secure.
• Operate machinery.
• Position requires heavy travel and time away from home.

Required Experience:

• 4+ years of experience as a professional carpenter.
• Must have experience operating off-road forklifts and skid steers.
• Excavation equipment experience is a plus, but not required.
