Mandatory Obstacle Completion Now Required for Eligibility

March 17, 2015 – Orlando, FL – Savage Race, a 5-7 mile obstacle course race featuring 25 of the world’s best obstacles, today announced that they are implementing mandatory obstacle completion for top awards for SavagePRO male and female overall finishers at all Savage Race events nationwide.

Update for 2023 events: Cash prizes will only be awarded for SavagePRO Point Series events. Single event payouts: $1,250 for first place, $750 for second place, and $350 for third place. Overall Point Series events payouts: $3,000 for first place, $1,500 for second place, and $750 for third place. $500 for fourth place, $250 for fifth place.

The coveted Savage Axe, awarded to the fastest, most savage male and female athlete at Savage Race, will continue to be given to the first place overall male and female finishers for conquering the world’s best obstacles with strength and speed. Both overall and age group winners will also be awarded a gold medal, sliver medal, or bronze medal, respectively.

Mandatory obstacle completion will now be required for all SavagePRO athletes. Competitors will be required to complete each obstacle as specified in the SavagePRO Rules and by event management and staff on site. There will be no “workout” alternative to the obstacles. Athletes will be given an unlimited number of attempts at each obstacle. However, if an athlete fails to complete an obstacle successfully and chooses to continue on to the next obstacle, that athlete will forfeit his eligibility for SavagePRO cash prizes (Point Series events only) and awards.

To be eligible for SavagePRO cash prizes and age group awards, athletes must register for the SavagePRO wave at 9:00 AM on Saturday events only. Cash prizes are only awarded at Point Series events. The SavagePRO Rules can be viewed on our FAQ page.
